1 - BOV Streets Alive offers a wide variety of entertainment as well as night-time shopping in the streets of the capital every Friday between the 25th July and 8th August. Each of the three consecutive Friday nights will have a different theme and will include a variety of activities hosted from 7p.m. onwards, offering visitors the opportunity to soak in and delve deeper into the unique characteristics of Valletta.

4, 11, 18, 25 - Films X 4 ‘Ensemble’ Films – The films ‘sotto le stelle’ will be shown on Monday evening throughout August – Valletta Campus - (an Evenings on Campus Event).   Most ‘Ensemble’ films deal with a single character and/or location and/or the person that transforms their story into a cinematic ensemble.   A typical example would be the film ‘Magnolia’ where the interaction among several characters during one normal day interweaves nine separate yet connected storylines.   Every interaction is pivoted in some way or another on Earl Patridge, the character played by Jason Robards.   Woody Allen once stated that this film style is something of a homage to Anna Karenina, and that it was that story that influenced him while he was making Hannah and Her Sisters.   Most of these films have been applauded for their multiple plots and characters, many of these films respectively receive Award nominations for their supporting roles.

7 - An Evening with Douglas Dunn – in collaboration with Dr Ivan Callus and his students – organised by the Department of English Students’ Association – Valletta Campus (an Evenings on Campus Event).   The eminent British poet, who lectures at the University of St Andrews within the Department of English and the Creative Writing Programme will be reading from his poetry, speak about developments within contemporary British poetry, respond to questions from the audience present.

7-10 - THE MALTA WINE FESTIVAL @ Upper Barakka Gardens. A wide range of quality D.O.K. and I.G.T. wines are available for sampling and gourmet stalls are also set up with a range of Maltese and international dishes to complement the award-winning wines. Live entertainment from a variety of artists is provided throughout the festival. Doors open at 19.00 hrs and the last serving is at 23.30 hrs.
